5 pressing questions we had at the Hum Awards red carpet
You know what happens when an award show starts two hour late? You spend too much time on the red carpet.
Any snacks that were palatable have been devoured, you've bumped jaws with everyone you know in the biz, and there is still time left over to senselessly mill about the red carpet.
What happens next? You start paying too much attention to the red carpet.
Here are some thoughts we had:
Gasp! Did Fatima Khan wear the same outfit twice?
We're joking.
But as hot as Fatima Khan looked in her moss-green Asifa Nabeel gown at the Hum Awards (see below), it looked familiar, so familiar that we burst out "We've seen this before!" And we sort of had!
Fatima Khan wore a similar form-fitting black Erum Khan gown at the Lux Style Awards 2016 that looked ah-mazing!
But look at both these dresses... one has a sleeve and the other a drape, remove those and it's the same dress! Is Fatima Khan going for a signature look?
Who's dressing Meera?
Because...
Meera's one of the biggest Lollywood stars, so the questions arises: why is no A-list designer keen to dress her? She deserved better than a shiny cellophane wrap.
What's up with all the shaadi wear?
These days, we see a glut of gowns on the red carpet, so when someone wants to stand out, a solid eastern look might do the trick.
But the secret to that is subtlety, not shaadi.
We can't quite wrap our heads around the shaadi fusion looks that were popular on the red carpet this time around. Many celebs wore a top suited for a wedding event and had it clashing with the rest of the ensemble and it just doesn't work.
Don't people not know less is more?
There was too much going on in Kubra Khan's ensemble and it has us saying nay!
That overdose of sparkly had us wanting to speak up on the shaadi tops again but this look is way too over the top even for a desi wedding! You'd think her not wearing heavy jewelry would save the look but that out-of-nowhere pop of turquoise makes us say "Never mind." Oh well, nice hair-do, though!
Will Mawra only wear pink now?
Mawra loves pink and that's great.
It's great to rock a favourite colour or a signature look. Like, some of us can never resist a black outfit and carry it well every time. But it's the pink and poofy princess look that is concerning. Mawra wore a pink gown at the LSAs and now her Hum Awards gown is also pink. It's one thing to look pretty in pink but it's another to drown in pink floof. Please don't drown in pink floof, Mawra.
