Down's syndrome children are very sweet. Very innocent and very trusting. Society cannot afford to let them down. They grow up to be intelligent people and less trusting. As we we all do.

early detection can prevent down syndrome, alas, in Pakistan we don't have much measures to check for either DS or various conditions related to pregnancy. there is a serious need to review and revise the procedures related to pre and post pregnancy.

That's amazing !!! In US & Europe through better facilities & post natal care life spam of DS is much better ( even 60 yrs & they can drive as well). We still need a big effort to provide them a better infrastructure of good quality life.....xxxx

@white noise This is not a disease that early detection will prevent it or cure it.. It in fact occurs by chance and there is no links to family history .. During the meiosis mitosis process when chromosomes are being distributed, then by chance in some instances an extra chromosome goes to the wrong side and makes it 3 pairs instead of the required 2 which is why is called Trisomy 21 as it happens with 21st chromosome!
