As Pakistani exhibitors say bye-bye to Bollywood, the Cinepax cinema chain is filling the gaps in its schedule with "the best of Pakistani films".

Cinepax announced this in a Facebook post:

While this year's Eid ul Azha releases Actor In Law, *Janaan* and Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai are currently running in cinemas, earlier films like Bachaana, Bin Roye, Dukhtar, Mah e Mir, Manto, Moor, Shah and Zinda Bhaag are soon to begin screening at Cinepax cinemas.

This move comes after Pakistani exhibitors' decision to cease the screening of all Indian films. Cinemas such as Lahore's Super Cinema and Karachi's Atrium Cinemas and Nueplex Cinemas were among the first to announce that move on Friday.

India should be taught a lesson by permanently banning their movies. The Indian movies consist nothing but mindless violence and lust. Instead we should show hollywood movies with urdu dubbing.

It is for the best. This gives an opportunity to the local industry to develop. As for BollyW, the loss of revenue isnt significant for them to lobby domestically for the status to be reverted.

Why did it take a new war situation for Pakistani cinemas to be seen> First all those complementing this decision were never true supporters of Pakistani film. The media gave terrible reviews, the government does nothing to encourage the films and so why the change of trying to fell fake patriotism. Our people suffer in oppression in poverty our schools in the outskirts are downright deplorable and the infrastructure in cities like Karachi is pathetic lets really show TRUE patriotism and fix these issues that plague us than writing cute comments !
