Hello Hollywood: Komal Rizvi set to make her international debut in Afreen

While some of our stars set their sights on Bollywood, Komal Rizvi went a step further.

The singer turned actress recently announced at a luncheon this weekend that she will be taking on a lead role in an upcoming Hollywood flick titled Afreen.

Speaking to Images, Rizvi shares, "I'm really excited to have been given this opportunity, it's the first time a Pakistani will be doing the title role in an international film. I'm leaving for Toronto in a couple of days; I'm very focused on doing a good job and I just hope I make Pakistani proud."

"The message of the movie is very pro-Pakistan and anti-terrorism," she adds.

The movie is being directed by a Canadian-Indian filmmaker, Ashish Chanana and shooting starts 2 October.

Wow, I was kid when her drama Huwain was aired on National Channel PTV. She visited India many times too. After a long time, she is venturing on becoming an actress. She is married, but divorced. I am not here to inform of the biography of her. The point is why every actor is hankering after the Fame considering it to be only valid if coming across the border or in foreign territory... No offence ... it's personal view...

And it's Hollywood cause it's shot in Canada by an Indian director? FYI Hollywood is in California and Hollywood films typically refer to big budget films produced by studios based in Hollywood. Komal's film can be best categorized as a low-budget Canadian indie.

Komal is a very talented celebrity,she can outclass many actresses in Bollywood if tested there.Ofcourse at Hollywood she will rise.But her real congenial place is Bollywood like Adnan Sami Khan. She's a perfect singer,and actress as well.Best of luck.
