Earlier today, Indian publication Hindustan Times claimed that Rishi Kapoor was approached by director Nadeem Baig to be a part of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.

According to the publication, Baig offered Kapoor a role in the sequel of the hit comedy, but the Bollywood actor turned it down saying, "Rather than casting Indian actors in Pakistani movies, it would be a good idea to find a strong story, which makes an impact on Indian cinema.”

With all the hoopla surrounding the news, Images decided to find out from director about the matter. The director confirmed that he did in fact offer a role to the Kapoor & Sons actor.

"Yes we approached him. He liked his role but he said he'll agree to it if we can release the film in India as well," said Baig, without revealing the role, only that Kapoor suited the character.

He added that while it is possible to release a film in India, it's risky what with there being little guarantee for the film's success.

Looks like we won't be seeing Rishi Kapoor in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani.

Nadeem Baig had approached many stars for the film after the script was completed. while he did not name who, when asked if the cast will include any other Bollywood actors in the JPNA sequel, he hinted with a 'maybe'.

The first movie was very cheesy and a big flop. How can it warrant a sequel.

"Rather than casting Indian actors in Pakistani movies, it would be a good idea to find a strong story, which makes an impact on Indian cinema.” A befitting reply.

I don't watch Bollywood or Pakistani movies. But Jawani Phir Nahin Ani was very funny. Some cheap stuff but overall a good movie.
