I want to do an out-and-out comedy: Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt is definitely one versatile actor. FromStudent of the Year to Highway to Udta Punjab there's no doubt this young actor loves to challenge herself.
According to Deccan Chronicle, what the Kapoor and Sons actor really wants to do is a fun masala flick, lots of them.
“I want to make this very clear. I don’t want to be one of those actors who is identified with one genre of cinema. Of course, I want to do realistic films, but I also want to do films that are completely the opposite. I want to do massive masala movies,” she says.
She adds, "I want to do an out-and-out comedy where I get to try out my comic timing. People feel that Shaandaar was a comedy movie, but I never saw the film as such."
Currently, Alia is shooting for comedy Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, alongside Varun Dhawan; this being the second flick in Karan Johar's Dulhaniya franchise for Alia, the first being Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya.
According to the budding actor, "It’s like a family reunion. Trust me, apart from the same faces, there’s no similarity between Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath… It’s interesting to be a part of a love franchise; we’ve never had that before.”
Apart from this Alia will start working on upcoming film Dear Zindagi co-starring SRK and Ali Zafar. With such a hectic schedule, the actor definitely feels she needs time to herself.
“Yes, I need some time alone, away from everyone. When I return from that small period of solitude, I feel rejuvenated. I don’t know about others, but I seriously need breaks from work!” she says.
