Are Parineeti's fake 6-pack abs a new way of body shaming?

Are Parineeti's fake 6-pack abs a new way of body shaming?

Should've contoured biceps and triceps too while they were at it

We all know about contouring. Yes, celebrities usually get it done on various parts of their body like arms, legs and face to add definition, but who ever heard of contouring (read: drawing) 6-pack abs?

You read that right.

So when Dishoom's item song 'Janeman Aah' came out recently, we were thrilled to see Parineeti Chopra in her fabulous new bod, but that's not what left our jaws hanging open; it was the 'contoured' 6-pack abs on her not-so-flat tummy.

Did we miss something, or did the filmakers miss the fact that a pooch does not equal to defined abs.

This is what her bod actually looks like.

Her pooch in all its glory. And there is NOTHING embarrassing about it.

Seriously, Dishoom filmmakers? This is a new low.

We all would love a flat stomach, hell, a few cuts won't hurt either, but really? Fake abs? This is where we're headed at? Even Bollywood's hot-bod queens, Jacqueline Fernandez and Katrina Kaif, who work their bootiful behinds off for their killer figures, don't have defined 6-pack abs.

We don't spot a 6-pack, but do they look beautiful? Yessir.

Could this possibly be a new way of body shaming? It sure seems like it.

Parineeti has worked hard to lose all the excess weight so she could look and feel good, but this just thwarted all her efforts. The filmmakers have reduced the actress to her abs, something which should not define her, or anybody ever. Period.

You can even see the way her tummy jiggles, and we love it because there is nothing 'fake' about a wiggling-jiggling tummy.

Varun and Parineeti are looking hot 😍🔥 the full song for Jaanemaan Aah is out now! This sounds a bit like Afghan Jalebi 🤔

We adore Parineeti for the way she is, she needs no 'contouring,' please leave her be. If you want those abs, find yourself a fitness trainer to feature in your item songs.

Or better yet, learn from Kareena; you don't need no abs to do a smokin' job in an item number.

Abs do not define fitness, not in the least. It just lets the world know that you have too much time and money on your hands and enough narcissism to spend most of your waking hours in a gym with a fitness trainer. How many professional footballers, tennis players or soldiers do you see with sculpted abs? They are fitter than these movie stars with their 5-star gyms, trainers, dietitians and image consultants can ever hope to be. The human body moulds itself to be the most efficient for the physical activity it is subjected to. And that may be very different from the fantasies that ad executives and movie producers have in their minds.

I don't see the "wiggling and jiggling" tummy you guys are talking about. I agree the 6-pack photoshop is ridiculous. But you are overly obsessing over her very flat stomach.

If we know our bodies we won't be shamed easily. Women have to lose a lot of naturally placed under the skin fat before a real six pack shows. Why bother when it's not healthy.

Who cares? We don't work in Bollywood and so we do not need flat tummies with abs.

Yes Priniti can do it as she is a Hindustani girl from the body builder State of Haryana, the home of best Boxers , Wrestlers and Kabaddi players. This wonderful State of this great country has 2% of the population and gets 40% of the total medals earned for the nation.
