'At this age, I can’t replace Shah Rukh in Bollywood', says Adnan Siddiqui

The 46-year-old actor would rather follow the lead of actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui
04 Jul, 2016

Adnan Siddiqui's become popular in India for his dramas like Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar, Kaisi Ye Qayamat, Ru Baru and Ruswaiyaan. But how does he plan to make his mark as a film actor, we wonder.

According to the Hindustan Times, the 46 year old actor says, “I am in that age where I cannot replace actors like Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan. They are great actors and are really famous in Pakistan. If I want to come in that league, I will be kicked out so badly that I won’t be able to see myself. I want to adopt the formula in India what Irrfan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, KK Menon and Manoj Bajpayee have taken up. I want to fit in that kind of role. I want to prove my metal in that area,”

Siddiqui appreciates the love he gets from his Indian audience. According to him, “It’s a great feeling all together when you see your work being appreciated. The grass is always greener on the other side and we also have loved the shows in India. I feel that my contemporaries and I want to produce the shows the same way and give good content,”

In fact, Siddiqui is keen to pursue more Pak-India collaborations, as he feels the two countries are very similar. “We both have the same kind of culture. I hardly see any difference. What is the difference in two countries? I think it is just P and I. I cannot help but think that once they were the same country. There is not much cultural change. People do ask me about Pakistani shows and I tell them that they have two ways of doing it and we have different way of doing it. It is just about the mind and thought.”

Adnan siddique is FAR better actor than shah rukh khan. Most Indian actors (and shah rukh khan is no exception to this) tend to overact. They come across looking really fake and always trying too hard. Many Pakistani actors in drama serials come across far more natural compared to Indian actors. Why Indians act the way they do in their movies its so fake and pretentious.. I would watch most of Adnan Siddique's drama serial over any Shah Rukh Khan movie.

After reading few lines, where he compares himself with others few he can match, few he can't I lost interest in reading further. If you want to be something be yourself. None of the names you have taken has tried to be someone else.

LOL. Man, at no age you could have replaced ShahRukh. Come to senses please, you are only 46 years old and lost all your senses. You are far far far far.....faaaaar away from any of the actors you have named. You become popular in Pakistan because you were forced upon people as you had connections. Seriously, did it ever occur to you that you could come on screen only because of your talent when 100s of 1000s even in Pakistan could act better but they don't have connections. Live in the circle where yo are and be happy about it. Actors like Ali Zafar and Fawad have problems in getting real hero roles let alone replace any one at the top and you could think of it??

Adnan Sadique you maybe a good decent actor but you will never suit a heroz role even if you started early in your career. Not even a match for most bollywood actors. Yes their are many Pakistani actors which could take Sharukh Khan but their is one actor particular which can take any actor by storm. Hes called Shaan. Unfortunately Pakistani film industries couldnt achieve quality films like todays day and age. I call it a waste of talent. If Shaan was in Bollywood he would of been one of the best action heroes. Now im happy the way Pakistani movies are made but its making less movies.

Being an Indian I haven't seen your movie yet!! But I am sure you will be better actor than SRK. Even a 3rd category actor of Pakistan would be acting better than SRK. Don't try to be SRK. Try to be like Amitabh Bachchan who is a role model for Indians!!

@khalid Working in TV serials undoubtedly requires much superior talent given the fact that close up expressions are not as easy as those in films. Ad nan S is not one of my favourites but I think he is way better than the actors he says he would liked to be matched. His statement above shows how courteous a man he is.

@Singh Can not work out your reasons to not consider Adnan even a shadow of SRK. You certainly should be thankful to SRK for his contributions to the Indian cinema. How ever based on real talent one can not dismiss AS so easily. Just try to compare AD smiling style with that of SRK ...the sound part of SRK' smile looks so odd and fake that I sometimes wonder how he has managed to rule B'Wood with that too obvious a lousy smile. Perhaps he knows his audience do not observe him with finer depth and are happy to accept him for what ever he is able to offer.

@zia Whether or not Adnan Siddigui compares well with the Indian actors may be a matter of opinion but you have left no effort spared in slamming harsh words on him when in fact he is a very talented actor in his own right. I do not know how old are you but your comment on him lacks maturity and insight. Have you ever been admired for any thing in your life? Have good day!

So first of all, he said he CANNOT get to the same position as Akshay, SRK, Salman. SO quit dumping on him by saying he cannot match them. Those saying that working on TV is more difficult than movies - if that were so, moving from TV to movies would be a cake walk. But at least on Indian side SRK, Vidya Balan and Sushant Singh Rajput are the only ones who have done that. Those making grandiose statements about how much superior Pakistani actors are compared to Indian ones - well good for you. Why is it though that any Pakistani actor who has worked in India is always full of praise for professionalism on Indian side? Why do so many of your ads have Indian actors in it? Why are so many of your ads shot in India? Welcome Adnan and best of luck.
