Indian critic refuses to review Sultan after Salman's "raped woman" comment

The renowned critic took to Twitter to announce that he will not be reviewing Salman's film
22 Jun, 2016

The Bollywood superstar has not only managed to upset India's National Commission for Women (NCW) but also famed Indian critic Raja Sen.

Following Salman's comment that he felt like a "raped woman" after his gruelling wrestling shoots for Sultan, National Film Award-winning director and critic Raja Sen decided that he had had enough and took to Twitter to express his sentiments on the fiasco.

The Indian film and TV director wrote that he will not be watching the Salman-Anushka starrer:

But after receiving a throng of negative feedback, he gave a perfect response as to why he came to that decision.

Do you agree with the critic's decision?

I too., I'm not going to watch Sultan for two reason, one for this Rape comment 2nd for his arrogant Nature to not forgiveness to Arijit Singh in spit of saveral apology from Arijit even in that incident Salman's fault.

I completely agree with Raja Sen. Being away from Asia for a very long time, I don´t know him and don´t knoq Salman Khan. But the fact remains that crimes like rape should not be used as joke. Such irresponsible remarks reduce the gravity of rape, which is - for me - as serious as murder. I presume a man can never imagine the sufferings of a raped woman.

YES ENOUGH. Imagine three blockbusters in a row - The Missing Black Buck, The Driverless Car and now Strange Confession Of A Rape Victim. What's next?

One sensible person in a movie crazed nation fast losing all indian values. Salman s statement shows his lack of education and class. But his movie will be a hit as these uneducated icons will continue to be venerated as society and morals change. But still a sane voice is refreshing in the present cacophony.

In a country where street language finds its way to the art-films as a matter of right to display honesty in depiction, what Salman said was one of the illustrations of a typical street talk.

I use to be a huge Salman fan and was looking forward to this movie but this changes it. I know it won't make much of a difference but I will not watch this movie. As educated members of the society we should not let this slide. Rape is not a trivial matter. Very disappointed with Salman Khan.

Unfortunately the message that u can't do things like these ( animal hunting, women bashing, abusing, bullying etc) will fall on deaf ears of Salman Khan's puerile, whistle blowing fans.

Salman is a celebrity, whatever he speaks he should talk with some maturity and responsibility as he is 46 years old now , it's sad his father has to apologise , nobody except film industry has approved it .

@ali "Salman is an Indian. Majority of Indians like Salman. So what Salman said should be the views of the majority of the Indians. Koi Shak.." How did you conclude that fans of his acting approve of this disgusting statement? Terrible logic.

Not agreed with the critic's decision. I have nothing to do with the Actor's personal life. I like his acting not his philosophy. Definitely, I will watch the movie.

we all make mistakes. who can claim that they never have a slip of tongue. salman khan too should be taken as a human being made of flesh n blood. why can't he make a mistake. we all have our moods and particularly in moments of sheer joy or extreme anger or when exhausted say things that we do not really mean. so please stop acting everyone else is perfect except of Mr Khan.

All took it wrongly it was just a wrong statement used to express how much he has to suffer for shooting this movie. I am sure if any one of you will have to go through for such heavy load lifting and fighting sequences then you would also feel same way. Salman should be careful for public sentiments. He should not be so much irresponsible towards society but it does not means he don't respect women.
