Andaz Apna Apna remake is happening and fans are not happy

If the original cast is roped in, will it be able to save the film?

It's happening. For better or for worse, but it's happening.

NDTV has confirmed a remake of cult classic Andaz Apna Apna (1994) after Phantom Films recently bought rights to the famous 90s film.

Originally directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film features Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor, Shehzad Khan, Viju Khote and Javed Khan with cameo appearances by Govinda and Juhi Chawla.

Earlier, sources confirmed that Salman and Aamir had agreed to be part of the remake, however, there is no update of the entire cast as yet.

Unfortunately, fans were stricken by grief upon hearing the news:

Looks like fans want filmmakers to keep their paws off their favourite film. Yikes.

how could you even think about making it without having amir and salman doing lead roles?

Fans are right. The purpose of a sequel is to worsen the original.

Evergreen classics like Andaz Apna Apna, Sholey and Jaane bhi do yaaron should never be attempted to be redone. Those remakes will never do justice to the originals.

though REMAKE can't be good as original, but remake won't degrade original. just don't watch or audience will do the judgement, let them remake. new remakes remind new generations about great films made earlier, they again watch original.

It was very bad movie but it has a cult following. I can understand the dismau of the fans.

I may be a minority here but apart from Paresh Rawal and partly Shakti, it was a bad movie ! Salman Khan was pathetic as usual, and so was Karishma . Amir and Raveena were good but wasted. The plot was silly and painfully thin.
