Whether it's a lehengha or sports wear, the ace tennis player can rock any style with aplomb.

To commemorate World Ethnic Day (19th June), website craftsvilla.com held an online survey for the Best Dressed Sportspersons in India. Without a doubt, Sania Mirza topped the list of Best Dressed Sports Celebrity in Ethnic Wear with 62.9% votes.

Monica Gupta, Co-Founder of Craftsvilla.com, believes sportspersons are the new style icons. "I feel great joy, when I see these iconic sportswomen in ethnic wear. They have graced magazine covers, ramps and of course, our medal tallies," she said.

Not sure how creditworthy the survey itself is, but Sania has been doing all the right things in recent years. Several years back while she was still a budding young tennis player, she was asked how long her tennis skirt would be. She silenced everyone by replying that it will not be six inches long, but nor would it be six feet long. Presumably, was a spontaneous response, but she has been carrying herself reasonably well on and off the court. Good luck to her. Good luck to Indian tennis.
