There is no negative reference against Pakistan in Dishoom: Varun Dhawan

We had an unsettling feeling that the movie might not see the light of day in Pakistan but it seems like we were wrong

After watching Dishoom's trailer yesterday, we had an unsettling feeling that the movie might not be released in Pakistan.

However, the film's cast assures us that need not be the case.

According to Deccan Chronicle, at the trailer launch, actor Varun Dhawan clarified that the film is not against Pakistan and does not show the country in poor light.

"I would like to clear this: There is no negative reference against Pakistan or any community. It is a very positive representation. In fact, what we are trying to show is that for certain people, money is everything. It's not being an Indian, Pakistani, Hindu, Muslim or Christian. In the capitalistic world that we live in, money is the biggest driving force for most crimes."

The upcoming action flick, which stars John Abraham, Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez, revolves around how a prominent Indian cricketer, a character inspired by Virat Kohli, gets kidnapped 36 hours before the final match between India and Pakistan.

Varun said when he met Virat, he spoke to him about the movie. The actor said, "I met Virat because we both support the same team in football and so, I told him about it. He knows we are making something along these lines. He's quite cool about it."

Dishoom hits cinemas on July 29.

Why is India so obsessed with pakistan. Why don't indians make movies about themselves. They have so many nations to chose from, sikhs, Tamil, Assamese, Bihari, Bengali, Kerala. Even Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh but it's always Pakistan. Indians seems to have an inferiority complex infront of Pakistan. Get over it,.

@Zak - Your knowledge is so weak....how sikhs, Tamil, Assamese, Bihari, Bengali, Kerala a DIFFERENT NATION? They are all part of a same nation.... India makes over 1000 movies per year and hardly few have anything to do with Pakistan so get over that Bollywood is obsessed with Pakistan.....get over the inferiority complex you have!

@Aziz Profit buddy! We Indians are capitalists and our producers will use controversial issues if that can get them some money. I say, what's wrong with that? If you guys had been true capitalists, maybe you would have been doing better than us.
