Priyanka just reminded America that she's actually a Bollywood star

The Quantico star showed off her dancing chops at the ABC Upfronts show

Is there anything Priyanka Chopra can NOT do?

The 33-year-old actress made full use of her Bollywood skill set on Tuesday afternoon at ABC’s Upfront show, when she danced at the network's annual show for advertising executives in New York.

Her performance also squeezed in a tribute to the late musician Prince, as a parody of Bruno Mars' 'Uptown Funk' segued into a few seconds of the iconic number 'Kiss'.

PC's dancing prowess ensured that she pulled the number off really well.

However, the performance was not without flaws. The Prince tribute lacked context, particularly since it followed a parody performance of Bruno Mars' 'Uptown Funk'.

This may as well be a Bollywood award show!

Priyanka kicked off the show with an act that introduced the new ABC tagline. After getting a cryptic message about 'The End of Entertainment as We Know It', she interrogates some ABC prime time stars, only to find out 'It All Begins With ABC', that is, the new tagline. She then launched into her dance performance, where only seconds were devoted to the Prince tribute. It all makes the tribute seem quite perfunctory.

Still, Priyanka pulled off a thrilling performance. The song-and-dance was quite alien to her American audience, so she made sure to quip during her act, "In India we always start important events with a dance party."

You have to give Priyanka props for repping home so well. Now we have more reasons for why she made it to the list of 100 most influential people by Times.

The audience doesn't look too thrilled to see her on stage. Sad racism still exists in today's world.

She has good legs, uncovered, a sure click with the American audience. However, this is not Indian culture, her claim that she still belongs to Bollywood rings hollow and she is trying to cozy up to Hollywood. But she shouldn't forget her tinge in any case.

@Hassan the only person who sounds not thrilled is you. Not them. @shakil @ divergence . America cares that's why they chose her. She is not cozing up to american culture. She was offered role in movie Baywatch and abc channel quantico. And even won award in america for quantico. Keep indo pak hate aside. Had she been pakistani you would have applauded her.

@shakil - Which film is "Bollywood " culture now-a-days. Plenty of non family type scenes etc. If India wishes to go down that route, so be it.

I am interested in knowing why Dawn gives such coverage to Indian culture, why not explore Pakistani regional culture, irrespective whether they are small or big, you won't know about Pakistani culture until you bring it to people's notice.

She is raised and educated in USA, and has proven that she can handle Hollywood and Bollywood without missing a beat. Unlike Ashwariya, she is not just beautiful but a better actor.

Though I'm not a fan of Priyanka but I think she is doing a good job of representing India and by the looks of it would surely do more in Hollywood. I don't understand why we Pakistanis and Indians have this tendency of bringing our own people down if they are trying to break new grounds. And by the way I'm a Pakistani.

She is talented and is popular on her own merits. She is the headline and the whole article. That she is an Indian is a foot note in small font. She is liked and respected for her talent fist and then, for being an Indian.

@Sajid Ibrahim my friend we are not so insecure about our culture. It certainly doesn't get degraded when a former miss world is respected for her talent nobody bothers here in India what she choose to wear

@shakil - You comment is almost delusional. Dancing IS a fundamental part of indian culture since the beginning of time. talking about uncovered legs - Check out Bollywood ( Hindi movie industry). It can put hollywood to shame in terms of being modern and sexy, and both.

Priyanka Chopra is an Indian maestro and queen of dance. She performed the best possible without an Indian cherographer, every dancer needs time, and cherographer before finalizing the event. Under the availible circumstances the performance was par excellence.. CONGRATULATIONS PRI.
