Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make his 'wax' debut in Singapore, London, Hong Kong and Bangkok on April 28 at Madame Tussauds. The museum revealed Modi's first-ever 'meeting' with his wax counterpart in a video yesterday, which provoke much hilarity on social media.

Watch the video here:

According to some reports the wax statues took four months to create and cost £150,000.

The video shows wax Modi dressed in a cream waistcoat, kurta and tang pajama — incidentally, real Modi donned the exact same outfit for his photo op, resulting in some pretty surreal moments.

Obviously, commentators on social media had a field day with Modi's photo op.

Some people pointed out how the statue glosses over any um, shortcomings.

Some people acknowledged the similarity between this moment and Shahrukh Khan's Fan:

This guy is just plain funny:

This guy hints at PM Modi's love for the camera

And there are selfie jokes too:

But what does Modi think about all this? When the PM 'met' his wax counterpart he said: ""What can I say? As far as art is concerned, the Madame Tussauds team is exceptional at what they do... What Lord Brahma does normally is what the artists there are doing. Today, I had an opportunity as the prime servant of my people to meet my wax figure."

We can't wait to see selfies with 'wax' Modi roll in after the statue makes its debut!

Within 24 months he became a world famous leader. No scams or major corruptions in India. He works for 18 hours a day. Has not taken even one day off during these 2 years.

"Today, I had an opportunity as the prime servant of my people to meet my wax figure." This speaks volume,he calls himself Prime Servant when he could have easily said "Today, I had an opportunity as the prime minister of my people to meet my wax figure." Modi is honest

@yusuf People in Madame Tussauds museum come to see the wax figures and the museum gets to keep the business earnings from the visitors. Since Indian govt. does not get any profit or business out of the wax figures, the govt. does not need to pay anything to the Museum.
