Sunny Leone joins the cast of Mahira, Shah Rukh Khan's Raees
The production of Raees, Mahira Khan's much-awaited debut Bollywood film, is being kept tightly under wraps, with only a few grainy photos giving evidence of the film's ongoing shoot.
But here's a little tidbit about the film's music that's piqued interest:
Sunny Leone has been roped in for a cameo in the film, and she'll be grooving to the iconic '80s track 'Laila O Laila' with Shah Rukh Khan during her brief appearance, reports the Mumbai Mirror.
According to a source, "Raees is set in the '80s and there was need of a song sequence. The makers unanimously selected 'Laila O Laila', which perfectly fits with the dark, gangster theme and period. It was suggested to Shah Rukh and it was his idea to get Sunny on board. A lavish set is being created in Mumbai and rehearsals are on in full swing."
The Raees version of 'Laila O Laila' will be faster than the original, which was featured in the Zeenat Aman-starrer Qurbani. The producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, who are fans of the classic number, have acquired the rights to the Amit Kumar-Kanchan song.
Mumbai Mirror also stated that the song sequence will shot on a set that is similar to the club set-up seen in Qurbani. Sunny will wear a white, sequinned gown and feather headgear, and will try to woo SRK's character, the bootlegger Raees Khan.
In the film, his business is eventually thwarted by a police officer - Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Mahira plays SRK's wife in the film.
A two-day shoot with Sunny has been scheduled for next month.
