Actor becomes writer: Agha Ali casts himself as hero in his first film script
Agha Ali says he's written a film script. It's a love story, inspired by true events, and it stars him as the hero.
Is the actor sharing his own story with the world? It sounds like it.
"Titled Ashique, the film is an action thriller romance, it's not a war movie or anything," shares Agha to Images. "Such genre is yet to be touched in recent times as far as Pakistani cinema is concerned." (The actor may have forgotten to get his tickets for Bachaana.)
While he stars as the titular ashique, the hunt for female lead is on. "We are in conversation with Mawra Hocane, Maya Ali, while Sania Saeed is confirmed for another role in the film," he says.
The Digest Writer actor added that the film will have a three-song soundtrack and Asim Azhar has been locked for a song. Asim will also make an appearance in the film.
"We will start shooting from September. It will be 45-day shoot, and I will be leaving television work during this shoot to focus on this film," the actor revealed.
Agha is also acting in Iqbal Kashmiri's upcoming action flick, in which he stars alongside Shamoon Abbasi.
Ashique is being directed by Aabiz Raza and is scheduled for a New Year's release.
