Genders don't matter in Arjun, Kareena's Ki and Ka: director R Balki
In an industry rife with gender stereotypes comes a refreshing departure from cookie-cutter roles in the form of R Balki's next, Ki and Ka.
Starring Kareena Kapoor as ambitious career woman and Arjun Kapoor as her supportive homemaker husband, the film turns on its head the typical household dynamics shown in the movies these days.
The rare role reversal in the film has been hinted in a number of promotions so far, first of which was Ki and Ka's motion poster (still shown above), which portrayed Kareena tying a mangal sutra around Arjun's neck.
"Hindi is a language where not only humans, but even various objects have genders. This film is about the fact. In Ki And Ka genders don't matter," Balki said.
Another photo has been released recently by the makers showing Kareena tracking stock market from a business newspaper, while Arjun serves breakfast.
It seems like a rom-com worth a watch. The hope is that Balki and team have done justice to the film's message.
Ki and Ka is slated for an April 1 release.
