Pakistani artistes cannot be stopped from working in India: Salman Khan

Salman added that politics and art needn't mix because both countries are fond of each others' entertainment industry.

Hopping on to the bandwagon of Bollywood actors standing up against Shiv Sena's call to ban Pakistani artistes, Salman Khan has reiterated the point that art and entertainment transcends boundaries by pointing to the mass appeal of Pakistani dramas in India, reported *Hindustan Times*

He said that art and politics shouldn't be mixed together: “Now that everything is digital, Indians love to watch each and every entertainment show, including popular Pakistani shows . So, art and entertainment have no boundaries. Entertainment is evaluated by what common people want to watch."

Salman added that no one could put restrictions on the performers: “Politics and art should not be mixed. This is not what common people want."

He also pointed out innumerable Bollywood fans in Pakistan: “If someone wants a Pakistani actor who can portray a role better, nobody can put a constraint. Bollywood has a huge number of fans in Pakistan and earns a good share of income from the neighbouring country.”

Only yesterday Bollywood megastar Shahrukh Khan spoke about the rising intolerance in India preceded by Sidharth Malhotra who spoke for Fawad Khan's skill and acting.

Akshay Bardapurkar who is the General Secretary of Shiv Sena's film wing had earlier said that Pakistani artists shouldn't be allowed to perform because of the skirmishes at the border which eventually led to singer Ghulam Ali cancel his event.

Both Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan whose upcoming films are in works were also asked to leave India which led many members of the fraternity to raise their voice.

Shiv Sena should stop their attitude .Mumbai is not their own property. Common Indian People have no objection for Pakistan Artist participation in Indian film Industry.

Not only the two SK, others should also come forward. and be vocal. Ajay, Akshay, Sunjay, Sunny etc etc. They have been too vocal against Pakistan in their movies. Its time to pay back and do something good. Let's see if they have got the guts.

It is important to note that Salman Khan is very close to Narendra Modi. That means Modi is not happy with Shiv sena intolerance. This party has few supporters in Mumbai only. Shiv Sena uses the failure of Pakistan Govt to take action against LeT terrorist Hafeez Sayed. If Pakistan takes action against UN declared terrorists then Shiv Sena cannot protest against Pakistan artists.

The running of Indian government not by Foreign ministry, interior ministry, entertainment industry, businesses , police, army, politicians, the ' people' but Shiv Sena ( SS) the extremists. Atleast in Pakistan the extremist Taliban are out of government fighting the government, but in India the extremists are in government fighting the people.

Setting up of unnecessary conflict by Salman Khan. He should have said no artist should be stopped from working in India. As long as the Government of India grants a Visa that allows an artist or any other person to work in India, no one has the legal right to stop that person from carrying out the economic activity. People may have a peaceful protest as per their perceptions and what have you, but disrupting by force or threat of force is the last thing that should be tolerated. Salman Khan's actions create divisions and not set the record straight.

Why entertainments alone should be separated from politics? Religion, trade ,sports all these should be divorced from politics. Also virulent propaganda whether it is in India or Pakistan should be discouraged.
