Did you know? Syeda Amera's next fashion show will take place in the middle of the ocean
Pakistani designer Syeda Amera is getting a most novel showcase in Australia.
She has been invited to participate in the J Spring Fashion Show that will take place in the middle of the ocean.
The show is being designed by model/event designer Jessica Minh Anh, whose latest runway that will cut through the sky-high sundeck of the the luxurious Costa Luminosa cruise ship in Sydney. The Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge will form the backdrop of this striking runway. The show will take place on March 14.
Minh Anh is famous for transforming the world's iconic landmarks and locations into truly remarkable runways. Her famous works include a glass bridge 4,000 ft above the Grand Canyon and a 150-meter circuit on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. She has also organised runways at London’s Tower Bridge, the Seine in Paris, and One World Trade Center in New York City. Minh also models in all the shows she produces.
This isn't the first time Amera has worked with Minh Anh; she's previously shown her designs on catwalks on the Hudson River in New York and Gemasolar power plant in Seville, Spain.
Jessica Minh Anh said, “Syeda Amera’s work is very intriguing. Her intricate floor-length dresses with bold colours and off-the-shoulder necklines truly flatter a woman’s body. At the same time, I believe Syeda Amera herself embodies the image of a modern, strong, and confident woman. I cannot think of a better representative for South Asia in the show”.
Amera, known for her crystal-studded dresses, will show her latest S/S 2016 collection at J Spring Fashion Show. She will be joined by five other designers are showing, including Elie Saab’s protégé Jad Ghandour, Lebanese talent Rouba.G, Romanian brand Chotronette, and Australia’s very own brand Begitta, as well as a ready-to-wear collection by Beverley Riverina of BlackHills, New Zealand.
