Streaming giant Netflix has the rest of 2022 and all of 2023 sorted with back to back entertainment that never seems to die down. At its annual event Tudum, the platform announced upcoming projects in the pipeline including a Bridgerton spin-off, an official Indian adaptation of Elite called Class and so much more.

On Saturday, the streaming service hosted a two-hour long event that saw clips of TV shows and films made for the Indian, American, French, Latin and Korean markets. You may have thought that Netflix would slow down a bit, given that we only have three months till the new year, but slowing down doesn’t seem to exist in their dictionary and with a line-up like the one announced, we’re not complaining.

Here are some TV shows we’re looking forward to watch!

American and French

Emily in Paris

Grab a croissant and don a beret because Emily in Paris is back for its third season. The last season left us with Emily Cooper stuck between two decisions — to join Sylvie’s French marketing company or return to Chicago for her promotion. But along with that comes her turbulent love life, her new beau Alfie and her undying attraction towards Gabriel who is dating Camille after she frames Emily and wins him back.

You

Hey, you! Joe Goldberg has a new mission in the fourth season but he is no longer the bookstore manager at the Anavrin or Mooney’s or his last seen role, a devoted husband to Love. Now he will be seen as a professor called Jonathan Moore but despite wanting to bury the past, can he live past the urge to find another love interest? Only season 4 can tell.

The Crown

The world may be waiting to catch a glimpse of the story of British royal Lady Diana in The Crown’s fifth instalment but we got our eyes set on Humayun Saeed’s Dr Hasnat Khan, a surgeon whom the late Princess Diana had a relationship with. The series will be available to watch from November 5.

Never Have I Ever

Spoiler Alert If you haven’t watched the third season of Never Have I Ever you may want to keep scrolling.

If you watched the show, you probably remember how things ended for Devi and Ben at Sherman Oaks High while rest of the batch graduated, including Paxton. Even though she ended things with the high school jock and Nirdesh, the new guy, she was last seen at Ben’s doorstep. But the Tudum event revealed that in season finale, Devi is not going to deal with her feelings about him. Paxton will return, there’s going to be a wedding and a new jock named Ethan to fill Paxton’s spot.

Lupin

Avenging his father was just the beginning for Assane Diop as the last season saw him going to great lengths to protect his family. His mission now is to disappear. The new trailer reveals that he has a new identity while the whole of France is still looking for the gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin. The upcoming season was announced at the event without a release date.

Hindi

Class

Elite but make it desi? Netflix has us all covered. At the event, the streaming service announced that an official adaptation of the Spanish series is in works called Class that follows live events that unfold when two worlds collide, shaking up the relationships and lives of students hailing from high-profile families of India with dark secrets of their own. Netflix did not announce a release date for Class, however, it will be releasing soon, hinted the trailer.

Guns and Gulaabs

The comic crime thriller series by Raj and Dk opens with a cassette playing 90s hits and Rajkummar Rao with his power-packed dialogues and typical action scenes. It’s a story inspired by the misfits of the world that depicts innocence, vulnerability and love set in a world full of crime. It also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, TJ Bhanu, and Gulshan Devaiah but unfortunately, no release date has been announced yet.

Rana Naidu

Real-life uncle and nephew Rana and Venkatesh Daggubati star in a series based on a Mumbai-based fixer and his ex-con father in the adaptation of crime drama Ray Donovan.

Scoop

Based on an event that happened in Mumbai 11 years ago, the show is inspired by books written by Jigna Vora, a journalist who chronicles her experience of being accused of murdering a fellow reporter.

K-Dramas

Squid Game

If you remember watching Lee Jung-jae turning from his flight to return back to the game, you’re most probably counting on the second season of Squid Game being even more complicated and perhaps even more brutal than the previous game. With very little information out about the second season, the event showed deleted scenes from the first season instead and announced that a second instalment is in the pipeline.

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area

The Heist and plans continue as the event revealed a second season is on the way for the Korean adaptation of La Casa de Papel, also known as Money Heist. No further information was provided in the brief clip from the upcoming season.
