Want to usher in 2021 with Dubai's NYE fireworks right from your living room?

Keeping with the theme of 2020, the answer is a global Zoom video call.

If you don't have plans for New Year's Eve, here's an idea: join thousands of people across the globe to watch the New Year's Eve celebrations from Dubai's Burj Khalifa on Zoom.

According to Emirates News Agency, Emaar, the master developer of the Burj Khalifa, has collaborated with Zoom Video Communications, to host New Year's Eve celebrations live from Downtown Dubai in a global Zoom video call.

Up to 50,000 people from around the world will be invited to tune in and usher in 2021 on the first ever New Year’s Eve celebration to be hosted on Zoom.

Emaar NYE 2021 will be broadcast live globally on Zoom from 9:30pm (PST) onwards, featuring a grand masterpiece of fireworks, light and laser show in Downtown Dubai.

Due to time difference, UAE's midnight will be 1am in Pakistan, so the main fireworks will be more of a post-midnight New Year's plan.

"Zoom is proud and honoured to take part in such a monumental event with Emaar, where our platform will allow people from all over the world to participate as we ring in a new year," said Abe Smith, Head of International at Zoom.

To access the live event on Zoom, click here for registration. The show will also be streamed live on the dedicated Emaar website.

Zoom dominated almost all aspects of our lives at one point or another in 2020, so it's only natural we ring in the new year with it too!
