Martin Scorsese is making a film on Bob Dylan for Netflix

Titled Rolling Thunder, the film is based on Dylan's legendary Rolling Thunder Revue tour of 1975-76

Hollywood director Martin Scorsese is directing a film about Bob Dylan, which is said to be "part documentary, part concert film, part fever dream."

This won't be the first cinematic collaboration between Scorsese and Dylan, as the former has previously helmed the documentary No Direction Home: Bob Dylan in 2015. However, as the description above indicates, this film is being touted as completely different.

The film, which will be released on Netflix in 2019, is titled Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese. It is said to "captures the troubled spirit of America in 1975 and the joyous music that Dylan performed during the fall of that year."

“There’s a reason the word ‘story’ appears in the title,” said a source at Netflix, hinting that the director may experiment with the film's style. The film will also be special for its inclusion of rare interviews of Dylan, who is famous for being a recluse.

No release date is set for the film.
