‘They manipulate your mind’: Maira Khan says she felt like a lab rat in Tamasha Ghar
The actor discussed what was actually going on behind the scenes in the reality show.
Fans of Pakistani reality TV may rejoice after Adnan Siddiqui revealed he will officially unveil the list of contestants for the fifth season of Tamasha today (Saturday) at 9pm on ARY Digital.
In a story posted on his Instagram account, the actor turned reality TV game-master said social media was rife with rumours about who was going to be on the show and who wasn’t.
“For weeks, YouTubers, bloggers, podcasters and a few self-proclaimed Tamasha intelligence agencies have confidently announced who’s in the show and who’s not,” the actor said. He quipped that some of them appeared to know before the team did.
“Well, the guessing game ends tonight,” he said.
In the accompanying video, Siddiqui said he was heading to the studio where they were preparing to launch the show’s latest season. He said the show’s new set would be revealed to the press and participants would begin their time on the show the next day.
Earlier on Thursday, the host posted a picture from the updated set with past winners Umer Aalam (season one), Aruba Mirza (season two), Aqeel Yousaf (season three) and Saif Ali Khan (season four). Also seated was ARY Digital CEO Jerjees Seja.
For those not in the know, Tamasha is a Pakistani spin on a popular reality TV format first introduced on Dutch TV with the show Big Brother.
A set of contestants live together in a house without contact with the outside world and compete for votes to stay on the show. The contestants also complete challenges to get luxuries and immunity from elimination.
The last contestant remaining on the show wins a cash prize. Last season’s champ walked away with almost two and a half million in winnings after the finale.
