Pakistan’s getting a zombie movie this Eidul Azha and everyone’s excited, including philanthropist Ramzan Chhipa, who added his unique twist to the film’s online promotions.
Clad in his signature green kurta shalwar, topped with a Jinnah cap, Chhipa bravely stood beside one of the film’s zombies and delivered an important message to the youth: “Hey kid, don’t do drugs and take care of yourself. Otherwise, you too will become a zombie.”
If you’re anything like us, you too have several questions. What’s going on? What is he talking about? And, perhaps most importantly, why isn’t the zombie biting Chhipa saab?
Unfortunately, we have no further information on the matter. We can’t confirm the veracity of the claims and we can’t say if the philanthropist survived contact with a literal zombie — he did seem to have paramedics with him in case something went awry.
What we can say is that the promotions for Zombeid have generated some hype for the movie, which saw its trailer release on May 11. From the looks of it, the movie will be a gory, action-packed one with a strong sense of 80s Hollywood nostalgia.
The film stars Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat as a martial artist and his girlfriend who get stuck at the venue of a cage fight in the middle of an outbreak that is turning people into zombies. It is set to release on May 27.
