It’s New Year’s Eve!

The last few hours of 2025 are ticking away and timelines are filling up with resolutions, manifestations and hopeful countdowns. But before stepping into the new year, many are doing what is almost inevitable tonight: pausing to look back. The wins, the losses, the lessons, the versions of ourselves we’re leaving behind.

Our celebrities are no different — and thankfully, some chose to let us in on their year-end reflections.

Singer Asim Azhar marked 2025 as a milestone year in his career, proudly listing achievement after achievement in an Instagram post. From landing a number-one song on weekly and daily charts to releasing his first-ever track to top global charts, and securing the highest pre-saves for a Pakistani album with Asim Ali, Azhar laid out a year of milestones that didn’t come easily.

The ‘Jind Mahi’ singer described 2025 as the “best year” of his life, while also admitting it may well have been the toughest — maybe for the best as “that’s what made it the year it was”. Looking ahead, Azhar said he’s carrying just one non-negotiable into the new year: truth — in his work, his choices and the way he shows up for people.

Roma Riaz, who represented Pakistan at the 74th Miss Universe pageant this year, summed up 2025 as a year that gave her “more than she knew how to ask for”. Thankful for the opportunities that stretched her and the people who stood by her, Riaz credited 2025 for its “lessons, growth, endless blessings and memories”, the kind that don’t always show up shiny, but stay with you.

For actor Hajra Amin, the year was simply put: “really something”. Sometimes, that’s all that needs to be said.

Hania Aamir, wrapping her year in a 30-second video, wrote that the “white rabbit” caught her again.

“I have somehow been the happiest and the saddest I have ever been,” reflected the voice over to her video. “I’ve learned how to let go and how to hold on at the same time.”

Biryani star Ramsha Khan echoed the same inward turn, framing 2025 as a year of self-healing and personal growth.

“Somewhere between all the memes and quiet nights of reflection, I realised I was shedding old layers and stepping into a more authentic version of myself,” she wrote.

Maya Ali, on the other hand, closed the year on a note of gratitude, stepping into 2026 with faith, growth and hope.

“Thank you 2025, for the lessons I learned and the things I had to let go of. Thank you for the pauses, the changes and the people who stayed or moved on. For the plans that didn’t work out and the strength I found along the way, thank you!”

As the new year approaches, our celebrities are reminding us that not every year needs to be perfect or meaningful. The key is to embrace the highs and lows, and walk into the new year with confidence!
