Meet Pakistani gamer Arslan Ash, the best Tekken player in the world
The gamer made history by becoming the first Pakistani to win the biggest esports tournament of the year for Tekken.
Pakistani e-sports icon Arslan “Ash” Siddique, widely regarded as the greatest Tekken player of all time, has shared joyful news: he and his wife have been blessed with a baby boy.
The announcement came via Instagram, accompanied by a touching photo of his hand, his wife’s hand, and their newborn’s tiny hand. He wrote, “Alhamdulillah, blessed with a baby boy, welcome to the world, Muhammad Ayan. Our family feels complete.”
Born in Lahore in 1995, Arslan’s love affair with fighting games began as early as age eight, when he first played Tekken 4 in a local arcade. Instead of following the usual path, he even studied chartered accountancy. Arslan took a daring leap toward esports. What began as a passion soon turned into a meteoric rise.
He first entered the competitive spotlight in 2010, and by 2019, he had become the first-ever unified champion of the world’s biggest fighting-game tournament, Evolution Championship Series (EVO), by winning both EVO Japan and EVO USA in the same year.
In 2022, he finished third in the EVO 2022 Tekken 7 competition. He won the Tekken 7 competition at EVO Japan 2023 in April 2023 and gained his fifth EVO title in July 2024.
In August, he bagged his sixth EVO title in Las Vegas.
