Timothee Chalamet fined for not parking electric bike properly at movie premiere

Celebrities usually pull up to film premieres in fancy cars, complete with security; but not Timothee Chalamet. The actor went to the London premiere of A Complete Unknown on an electric Lime bike — and got fined for it.

Apparently, Chalamet did not park the bike properly and faced a fine of $73.45, he disclosed while promoting the movie in France on the talk show Quotidien.

Chalamet’s defence? “It’s ecological!” However, the actor admitted that he chose to ride the bike in an effort to beat traffic and make it to the screening on time, Variety reported.

The press tour — full of Chalamet’s quirky personality, including a rather random appearance on ESPN’s sports show College Game Day — has worked well for the film because A Complete Unknown became one of Searchlight Pictures’ biggest hits in recent years with over $51 million at the US box office.

Before A Complete Unknown was released, Bob Dylan, the singer on whom the film is based, sang Chalamet’s praise on X. “Timmy’s a brilliant actor so I’m sure he’s going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me.”

One thing is for sure, Chalamet’s star power and support from the legendary singer won’t allow him to dodge the fine. It’s a good thing the movie is making millions!
