Going Loco for Local: Aura Crafts’ rose water, body mist are just what you need in Karachi’s heat

I’m on a journey — a journey to find the most suitable (and affordable) skincare for myself. Lately, I have finally found the long-lost enthusiasm to pay heed to the deteriorating state of my skin, thanks to Karachi’s sweltering heat. The heat is unforgiving, and sadly, so is inflation, so it’s difficult to spend your hard-earned money on skincare, which might cost an arm and a leg.

I’ll be honest, I am not someone who’s into an elaborate skincare routine — my nighttime regimen does not constitute eight steps. My holy grail has been a double cleanse and glycolic acid serum coupled with a good moisturiser. I top it all off with a final spray of rose water. But I knew I had to go on a hunt to find a new brand of rose water when the one I stumbled upon in my kitchen began causing irritation on my skin — not to mention my mom’s constant complaints of me consuming most of it!

Enter an Aura Crafts package sent to the office.

The Aura Crafts Organic Rose Water does the job. It’s everything you’d want your rose water to be — it’s light, leaves your skin fresh, hydrated, and plump, and doesn’t leave a heavy feel on your skin. Moreover, at Rs1,250 a bottle, the quantity is plenty! The only drawback for me is its strong scent, as I like my face mists to be a little more on the neutral side. But hey — if you love roses, this could be right up your alley. After using it for almost two weeks, my skin feels more hydrated.

Another Aura Crafts product I tried is their body mist, Eden. Priced the same as their rose water, it is absolutely worth your Rs1,250. The scent, unlike their facial mist, is delicate. The floral fragrance became a personal favourite soon after I wore it for the first time, and it fits me just right since I prefer it more than fruity tones. While the mist’s scent won’t probably last you eight hours, it could layer very nicely with your everyday perfume.

Safe to say, Aura Crafts might just be the saving grace I had been looking for when it comes to local skincare brands. After their mists, I’m eyeing their plumping lip balm and K-Repair Radiance Serum. You can order all product ranges from their website.
