Did you catch British-Pakistani DJ Ahadadream’s song in the iPhone 16 ad?
British-Pakistani DJ and producer Ahadadream, whose real name is Ahad Elley, had his track ‘TAKA’ featured in the launch ad for the new iPhone 16 series. The song also became the backdrop to a flashy event held in San Francisco on September 9, where Apple unveiled its latest iPhone series to the world.
Taking to social media to celebrate the news, Ahad wrote, “@apple just launched the new iPhone with ‘TAKA’,” tagging collaborators Skrillex and Priya Ragu. “Was watching the keynote event online and got so gassed when it came on (especially where they show a cheeky Shazam at 1m23s),” he added, overwhelmed, capping off the announcement with a crying emoji.
The announcement was met with enthusiasm from fans and peers alike, especially those in Pakistan, showcasing the growing impact of Ahadadream’s music on the global music scene.
Ahadadream’s music is known for its pure percussive energy. His unique, drum-focused production style draws from a diverse range of influences, including music from Pakistan, the UK, and the African diaspora.
Ahadadream is a standout name in the UK club music circuit, with his tracks becoming set staples for high-profile DJs such as Peggy Gou, Fred again.., Four Tet, Skrillex, Dixon, Jamie XX, Bonobo, Laurent Garnier, VTSS, and Ben UFO.
His edits have even been co-signed by pop royalty like Rosalía.
In 2022, The Guardian dubbed Ahadadream “one to watch,” and with good reason. His BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, along with his Mixmag Lab and NTS residencies, have become must-listen sessions for those looking to explore his sound.
In the past year, Ahadadream has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals, including the Glastonbury Festival.
His Boiler Room set, which dropped in October last year, was declared “one of the rowdiest of the year” by the platform itself. The stream features special guest appearances from Skrillex and ELIZA, two artists Ahad has been collaborating with.
