Fawad Khan to make a cameo in Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: Indian media

Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan is reportedly set to return to Bollywood after an eight-year hiatus. News about him starring alongside Vaani Kapoor surfaced earlier this month with sources confirming to Filmfare that the film would go into production soon. However, not much else was revealed about the project. Now, News18 and other Indian outlets have reported that Khan has two Bollywood projects in the pipeline, the second being an appearance in Kartik Aaryan’s highly-anticipated comedy horror film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Although an official announcement from the makers and director Anees Bazmee is still pending, rumours of Khan’s potential cameo have fans excited. Produced by T-Series Films and Cine1 Studios, the movie is scheduled for a Diwali 2024 release and serves as a sequel to the 2022 hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Khan’s last appearance in Bollywood was in the 2016 romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.

While Khan’s appearance in these films is still unconfirmed, what has been confirmed is his reunion with Sanam Saeed in the upcoming series Barzakh. The pair will be sharing the screen for the first time in 12 years since their blockbuster show Zindagi Gulzar Hai.

Barzakh’s intriguing storyline follows a reclusive resort owner who brings his estranged children together for his third wedding, only for them to discover that his would-be bride is believed to have passed away long ago.

The unexpected reunion compels the family to confront their inner demons and unresolved issues. Barzakh is set to premiere on July 19 on Zindagi’s YouTube channel and ZEE5.

In his latest interview with The Khaleej Times, Khan said that he doesn’t consider himself a superstar — not anymore at least.

“I don’t consider myself a superstar. I see myself as a modest contributor in the grand scheme of things. In the past, there were fewer stars and limited media platforms. Those who appeared on screen instantly became brands because of the scarcity of options, and projects were sold based on their names. Today, with exposure to wider languages, regions and global content accessibility, attention is dispersed, and new talent emerges from all corners, making the market fiercely competitive.”

He added, “Superstars have taken a backseat as content has emerged as the cornerstone of projects. Whether it’s me or any other actor is irrelevant; what matters is the unique contribution each of us brings to the project.”
