Fawad Khan to make a cameo in Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: Indian media

The report comes hot on the heels of news that Khan would return to Bollywood with a film opposite Vaani Kapoor.

Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan is reportedly set to return to Bollywood after an eight-year hiatus. News about him starring alongside Vaani Kapoor surfaced earlier this month with sources confirming to Filmfare that the film would go into production soon. However, not much else was revealed about the project. Now, News18 and other Indian outlets have reported that Khan has two Bollywood projects in the pipeline, the second being an appearance in Kartik Aaryan’s highly-anticipated comedy horror film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Although an official announcement from the makers and director Anees Bazmee is still pending, rumours of Khan’s potential cameo have fans excited. Produced by T-Series Films and Cine1 Studios, the movie is scheduled for a Diwali 2024 release and serves as a sequel to the 2022 hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Khan’s last appearance in Bollywood was in the 2016 romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.

While Khan’s appearance in these films is still unconfirmed, what has been confirmed is his reunion with Sanam Saeed in the upcoming series Barzakh. The pair will be sharing the screen for the first time in 12 years since their blockbuster show Zindagi Gulzar Hai.

Barzakh’s intriguing storyline follows a reclusive resort owner who brings his estranged children together for his third wedding, only for them to discover that his would-be bride is believed to have passed away long ago.

The unexpected reunion compels the family to confront their inner demons and unresolved issues. Barzakh is set to premiere on July 19 on Zindagi’s YouTube channel and ZEE5.

In his latest interview with The Khaleej Times, Khan said that he doesn’t consider himself a superstar — not anymore at least.

“I don’t consider myself a superstar. I see myself as a modest contributor in the grand scheme of things. In the past, there were fewer stars and limited media platforms. Those who appeared on screen instantly became brands because of the scarcity of options, and projects were sold based on their names. Today, with exposure to wider languages, regions and global content accessibility, attention is dispersed, and new talent emerges from all corners, making the market fiercely competitive.”

He added, “Superstars have taken a backseat as content has emerged as the cornerstone of projects. Whether it’s me or any other actor is irrelevant; what matters is the unique contribution each of us brings to the project.”

Pakistani actors should stop acting in Indian movies, build up our own.

@ ASAD The world of arts is global. It has no borders. Would you also advise actors like Riz Ahmed to not work in British or American films? I swear this myopic view is among other things what is holding us back. Just look at Palestinians. Their artists work all over the worlds. Israeli Palestinians work in Israeli projects too. Shocker. Art is art. It has no nationality, religion or skin color.

Stretching drama serials for money without substance, is ruining the worth of otherwise very decent Pakistani dramas. Money is not everything. We must remember the past dramas like Alpha Bravo Charli, Sunehre Din and the whole list of Hasina Moeen's dramas!

Why is he or any Pak actor/actress soe ager to work in Bollywood? Remember what happened some 8 years, they were kicked out of Bollywood. Have some self respect and build your industry!

Fake news. Pakistani artists are banned from working in Indian movies or projects as per the order of the GOI and I haven’t seen any news about lifting of that ban anywhere on Indian media.

@M.SAEED Exactly! I have stopped watching Pakistani dramas because of this reason. Same old ghissi pitti kahanian about saas/bagi, dusri shaadi, zalim bewafa shohar/mazloom mohtaj biwi, mohabbat, forced marriage, glorified abuse etc. Same regurgitated storylines where characters especially female have no common sense, no options even if rich, privileged, educated and financially independent and where the plot is completely predictable from the promos and teasers alone. No strong characters, no surprises, no impressive stories and no reality. This is what our the channels serve us daily and people lap it up. I don't know why they won't hire proper writers. I guess the producers want to keep the masses dumb and ignorant. And people keep giving them ratings. It's gone really downhill. I do like critical work of people like Sarmad Khoosat though. Sadly most of his work is not displayed on TV.

Its's same like Pakistanis working globally in Indian companies should stop working and that's unrealistic . Pakistani industry will not work until our mindset of banning the contents like 'Zindagi Tamasha' and others changes .

Farhan Tahir, Sajid Hassan, Iqbal Theba, Riz Ahmed, Adnan Siddique, Ayaad Akhtar, Umar Khan, Kumail Nanjiani, Art Malik etc are just some of the artists who are fortunate to work and display their talents abroad. I will never understand why sole people insist that Pakistani artists should live and work in a bubble. Instead of being proud and supportive that we have such diverse talents making it outside their country, we pull them down and want to limit them. So weird.

@Gurpreet Singh Yes, that's what I thought too. But apparently when I Google this information it turns out Indian news outlets are also confirming this news. Just smoke? Or maybe the ban is not absolute or maybe your country is lifting it slowly without great announcement. Maybe ask your government?

Ok what do actors like Riz Ahmed Kumail Nanjiani Ayaad Akhtar Iqbal Theba Sajid Hassan Sajal Aly Farhan Tahir Mahira Khan Umar Khan Adnan Siddique Javed Sheikh Humayun Saeed Ali Zafar And musicians Rahat Fatah Ali Khan Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan Atif Aslam Strings Have in common? They are all Pakistanis who tried or have successful careers in Bollywood or Hollywood. We can whine about it. But the fact is artists are not limited to their countries. Some Pakistanis really need to open up their minds. This fish bowl mentality is just not really right.

@LAILA - I very much doubt that the ban on Pakistani artists has been lifted because: a) BJP is still in power and b) lifting the ban would be a very unpopular move since most Indians support the ban (although personally I don’t support it).

@GURPREET SINGH, Yes, you are right as it turns out. I didn't mean to blame you, but it's nice to know most Indians don't support the ban. There are sensible people everywhere. I actually don't know much about your countrys politics, but I have wanted to visit because of the history and diversity. I just don't think it would be safe though, because I am female and covered from head to toe lol Thank you for your kind reply.
