Saheefa Jabbar Khattak is returning to TV after a four-year hiatus
Saheefa Jabbar Khattak is returning to television after a four-year break. The actor is set to star in Green TV’s Rafta Rafta, alongside Zaviyar Nauman Ejaz and Hina Dilpazeer.
In an exclusive comment to Images, Jabbar said the six-to-eight-episode comedy series will be directed by Khalik Khan and will be released in Ramazan.
The Teri Meri Kahani actor said that Dilpazeer will be playing her mother in the “fun and cute series”. She maintained that she was “grateful” that there was “no crying or slapping” in the show — stereotypical elements present in a majority of Pakistani dramas.
“This was my problem, I did not want to do a scene with slapping or [dialogues such as] “please believe me”,” she continued, reiterating that the story was “cute” and it depended on the actors and directors to depict that.
Khattak also appeared enthusiastic that her wardrobe was “very different this time”. She stated that usually she was styled in very modern clothes or dressed at the other end of the spectrum in very desi clothes. However, this time she looks like a “Pakistani girl who wears kurta pyjamas from Khaadi or BeechTree with khusas”, thus there was a “difference in [her] look”.
“I have also lost weight and am trying to lose more, so hopefully I will look skinnier than I did in my other projects,” she said.
She also told Images that she has other scripts from Green TV that she is currently working on, adding that she was making a “comeback”.
The Beti actor stated that she always wanted to do either a comedy or something dark and was “glad this show had some margins”. She likened her character in Rafta Rafta to herself, because the character was also “independent and fun”.
