BJP leader slams ‘objectionable’ costumes, content in Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone’s ‘Besharam Rang’
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s latest song ‘Besharam Rang’ from film Pathaan is all over the internet. It’s become the subject of many memes but there are some people who aren’t laughing at all. BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra believes the song “has been shot with a dirty mindset” and wants the film “fixed”.
The song dropped on Monday and saw Padukone and Khan grooving to the upbeat song by the beachside in Spain. The video begins with the Gehraiyaan star wearing a neon orange and gold monokini while Khan showed off his eight-pack.
As per Indian news agency ANI, Mishra said, “The costumes in the song at first glance are objectionable. It is clearly visible that the song of the film Pathaan has been shot with a dirty mindset. I don’t think this is right, and I will tell the director and makers of the film to fix it. Earlier also Deepika Padukone came in the support of Tukde Tukde Gang at JNU and that’s why her mentality has come in front of everyone before,” he said.
“And that is why I believe that the name of this song ‘Besharam Rang’ is also objectionable in itself and the way saffron and green have been worn, the colours of the song, the lyrics and the title of the film are not peaceful. It needs improvement,” he said.
The minister said that if the film doesn’t fix these things, then they will reconsider if it will be allowed to screen in Madhya Pradesh. He said that if the improvements are not made, then they will consider prompt action.
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan is scheduled to hit theatres on January 25. It also stars John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana and Salman Khan in a cameo role.
