Netflix’s Fate: the Winx Saga cancelled after two seasons

Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga won’t be renewed for a third instalment as the OTT giant has cancelled the show, according to Variety.

Series creator Brian Young took to Instagram on Tuesday, announcing that the show won’t be returning for a third season. “This is not fun news to share, but Netflix decided not to move forward with Season 3 of Fate: The Winx Saga. This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season. It’s a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same,” he wrote.

Young said he is proud of everyone who worked on the show and wrote, “Our cast and crew put in a ton of hard work creating this world and these characters. I’m grateful for each and every one of them, and for all of you for watching. It’s been an amazing four years. Hopefully we’ll see each other again in the future.”

The show originally debuted on Netflix in 2021. The second season released on the site nearly two months ago. The first season consisted of six episodes while the second had seven. The show is a live-action adaptation of animated series Winx Club starring Abigail Cowen, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt, Elisha Applebaum, Danny Griffin, Sadie Soverall, Freddie Thorp, Theo Graham, and Robert James-Collier, among others.

Before it was cancelled, Fate: The Winx Saga appeared to be a success story for Netflix. On the release of the second season, the show trended in the site’s Top 10 section. According to Variety, the show outranked Cobra Kai and Narco-Saints by becoming the second-most viewed English-language TV show and the third-most watched show on Netflix.
