Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 trailer teases new challenges for Alfea college’s fairies and specialists

The new season will see Bloom and her group of fairy friends to rise together and end the threat lurking over the boarding school.

Fairies Bloom, Terra, Aisha, Musa and Stella are back for the second season of Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga with a trailer filled with mystery, adventures and challenges looming over the Aflea college of fairies and specialists.

On Tuesday, streaming site dropped the first look at the second season of the show. It’s based on widely popular Nickelodeon animated series Winx Club from creator Iginio Straffi. The live-action series follows the coming-of-age story of five fairies that not only train to strengthen their powers but tackle teen issues such as love and rivalries within their magical boarding school and the monsters lurking in the Otherworld.

The first season left off with Bloom “blooming” into a fairy with her fiery wings but in the first half of the new trailer we can see teen problems have been emphasised in the second season by the looks of two-minute long clip. While challenges and monsters are lurking over Alfea, Bloom (Abigail Cowen) is reminded of her teen life and how short it is. We get to see some countryside horse rides with Sky and romance. But this doesn’t stop her from figuring out her origin, the main story of the first season.

New complications are arising for the fairies and specialists as fairies start to disappear. Whatever energy is taking the students is attacking others too, which endangers the balance between magic, love and fairies. What is required to save Alfea? Bloom and her group of fairy friends have rise together and end the threat once and for all.

According to Collider, season 2 of Fate: The Winx Saga introduces a number of new cast members including Paulina Chávez who plays Terra’s cousin Flora. The rest of the cast for the upcoming season includes Hannah Van Der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt, Elisha Applebaum, Danny Griffin, Sadie Soverall, Freddie Thorp, Theo Graham, Jacob Dudman, Brandon Grace, Robert James-Collier, Ken Duken, and Éanna Hardwicke.

Fate: The Winx Saga has been created by former The Vampire Diaries writer and producer Brian Young. The upcoming season is going to feature even bigger fights and action sequences with intricate storylines about the future of the fairies and other beings.

The second season for the Winx series will release on Netflix on September 16.
