‘Full of mystery, mayhem and murder’: Netflix’s Wednesday Addams is a creepy roller-coaster ride awaiting you this fall

From leaving piranhas in the school’s pool to getting expelled, Netflix has finally released the trailer for its new Tim Burton creation — Wednesday Addams that sees You star Jenna Ortega as the lead.

On Wednesday, the streaming giant dropped the teaser for the highly anticipated horror-comedy series based on one member of the Addams family.

Things are a little rocky as murder and chaos surround Wednesday Addams and her school life. At the start of the trailer we find out that Wednesday has attended eight schools in the last five years. She gets expelled from her current school when she unleashes bunch of piranhas on the swim team. By the looks of it, one of the swim team members seemed to have bullied her brother. What does she face as a consequence of her actions? A new, ninth school, Nevermore Academy, which is also where her parents met for the first time.

But her journey is not going to be as simple as it seems by the looks of her new school. Wednesday says in the trailer “nightmare full of mystery, mayhem, and murder,” hinting at the adventures she is bound to have. She’s also sure she’ll love it here.

The new show comes from creators Miles Millar, Alfred Gough and director Burton himself, who will helm four out of eight episodes of the upcoming series. Ortega is seen as the moody teen, Catherine Zeta-Jones, as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán, as Gomez Addams and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams. Cristina Ricci will also return to the series but not as Wednesday but a mysterious character that has yet to be revealed.

There’s no release date yet but the trailer says the show will release this fall.
