Bollywood's Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are expecting their first child

Indian actor Alia Bhatt has taken the internet by storm after she shared photo of her and husband Ranbir Kapoor at a doctor's appointment with an announcement that the couple is expecting their first child.

In the picture, the couple are both staring at the sonogram screen. The actor captioned the post, "Our baby ….. coming soon."

The photo received likes from multiple celebrities, including her sister-in-law Riddhima Kapoor. Their Brahmastra co-star Mouni Roy wrote, "Immensely happy" followed by heart emojis. Bhatt's mother Soni Razdan also commented, "congratulations mama and papa lion," referencing the second photo Bhatt shared with the pregnancy announcement of a family of lions.

Her godfather, filmmaker Karan Johar and actors Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra and Tiger Shroff congratulated the couple on their announcement as well.

Just two months ago Bhatt and Kapoor officially tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actor announced the news with photos of the couple performing the rituals at their wedding. It was touted as the most talked about wedding by Indian media.

Kapoor and Bhatt will be seen in the film Brahmastra that will hit Indian theatres on September 9. Apart from this, Bhatt has Darlings, Jee Le Zaraa, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and her Hollywood debut in Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan coming up. Kapoor has Shamshera, Luv Ranjan’s untitled next project and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal in the pipeline.
