Ms. Marvel is now the highest scoring Marvel production on Rotten Tomatoes

Only six days after its release, superhero series Ms. Marvel is now the highest scoring Disney+ and MCU original series on Rotten Tomatoes with 97 per cent. The series has a higher score than every other MCU film as well.

According to Forbes, the series stands above 14 other MCU contenders that scored a high percentage including Disney+ series and movies — Black Panther at 96 per cent, Avengers Endgame at 94 per cent competing with Iron Man and What If...?, Thor Ragnarok and Spider-Man: No Way Home at 93 per cent, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Loki, Guardians of the Galaxy, Hawkeye and The Avengers at 92 per cent, WandaVision and Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings at 91 per cent and Spider-Man: Far From Home at 90 per cent.

Disney+ shows like Loki and WandaVision also made it to the list, but Ms. Marvel took the crown by unseating the champion, Black Panther that ruled the ratings prior to the series' release. Starring the late actor Chadwick Boseman, the film was previously the highest rated Marvel production on the website at 96 per cent.

The new series could lose a point or two in the near future as more episodes release online and more reviews pour in. So far, it has 161 critic reviews.

In the show, actor Iman Vellani plays 16-year-old Kamala, a Pakistani-American teenager who lives in Jersey City. Kamala is an aspiring artist, an avid gamer, and a voracious fan-fiction scribe. She is also a huge fan of the Avengers — and one in particular, Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world — that is until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.

Ms Marvel is being helmed by Oscar-winning Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Meera Menon, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. While it premiered on Disney+ on Wednesday, Marvel Studios will be releasing Ms. Marvel exclusively in cinemas in Pakistan this week. Episodes one and two will debut this Friday (June 17), three and four on June 30 and five and six on July 14.

We don't know about a second season, but Ms. Marvel is going to appear in The Marvels in 2023 alongside Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, whom she admires.
