Singer Azaan Sami Khan bids farewell to drama serial Ishq-e-Laa

Multiple shows have made their way to our TV screens but only a few are able to impress the public these days, especially considering how saturated the market has become. Drama Ishq-e-Laa, starring Sajal Aly, Azaan Sami Khan and Yumna Zaidi, was just that. As the drama has come to an end, Khan took the opportunity to thank everyone who was a part of his first TV project.

Bidding adieu to his character Azlan Ahmed, Khan took to Instagram and wrote, "It's been on my mind for days how I should bid farewell to Ishq-e-Laa. I've always heard actors say their first character will always live with them but I probably now somewhat understand it. All I can really say at this point is thank you. No matter how much gratitude I may feel it is not enough compared to the amount of love you all have shown me."

In the post he also described what this project really meant for him as he embarked his acting debut. "Ishq-e-Laa was a project beyond my initial capabilities and I'd like to sincerely thank all the actors for working on this project and being my co actors whilst having patience and helping me through this journey," he wrote, thanking producer Momina Duraid for entrusting him with this project, director Amin Iqbal for supporting him and helping him through each step of the way and writer Qaisra Hayat for giving the character to him.

He also credited his team for always pushing him to be better. "Without all of you, I wouldn't be half the person you saw on screen" wrote the singer.

"I will always be eternally indebted to each person who has shown love to me at this nascent stage in my career as well as the critics who have critiqued me and allowed me to better myself. I sincerely hope to make all those who have believed in me proud." The singer also responded to critics cheekily by hoping that in future there comes a point they'd reconsider him at some point.

"Since I can remember, I have lived my life to an entertainer and I hope Allah allows me to continue to do so. Till next time," concluded the post.

His farewell post received a lot of comments from his followers as well as co-stars Adnan Samad, Zaidi and Uzma Hassan, who played the characters Abid Ali, Azka and Kanwal Sultan respectively.

His father and singer Adnan Sami Khan also dropped by to appreciate his son. "Well done! Proud of you kid. May Allah SWT make you fly high in the sky... but always keep your feet on the ground. Go for it! Love you bache (kid)," he wrote.

Ishq-e-Laa is a drama based on a man named Azlan who is in search of divinity and eternal love. Khan's character in the show is a wealthy businessman who settles down with his childhood friend Shanaya, played by Aly, a journalist and a human activist who often takes on assignments that pose risks to her life. Azka, played by Zaidi, depicts a member of a lower socio-economic class who has to struggle through every aspect of life. The overall story highlights three different yet strong personalities.

The drama ended with 31 episodes on Thursday. The last episode is currently 34th trending video on YouTube with more than 6.2 million views.
