Indian media claims Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal sold wedding telecast rights to Amazon Prime Video

Bollywood's rumoured couple of the hour, Indian actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, are the subject of a whole lot of speculation when it comes to their 'marriage' festivities that are currently underway. A recent report by the Indian media alleges that Kaif and Kaushal have sold the wedding telecast rights to Amazon Prime Video.

The couple kicked off their grand wedding celebrations in Jaipur, India on December 7 after arriving in the city amongst much fanfare. The wedding festivities of the rumoured it-couple — they still haven't confirmed that they're together — started with a sangeet, followed by a mehndi today (December 8) and then the nuptials on December 9. There will also be a reception on December 10.

According to Indian publication Mid-day, sources say that the couple has allegedly taken a cue from celebrity couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas and have allegedly sold wedding telecast rights to Amazon Prime Video for a whopping INR 800 million. Chopra and Jonas also sold their wedding picture rights to US magazine People in 2018.

Mid-day claims that is one of the reasons why the couple has tried so hard to keep details about the 'wedding' under wraps. Reportedly, the couple made their guests sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to keep them from leaking details about what goes down during the event.

The 'wedding' festivities are being held at Rajasthan five-star luxury heritage hotel Six Senses Fort Hotel, Jaipur which has allegedly been booked entirely by the couple.

According to the Indian media, Kaif and Kaushal were to be officially wed at court on either December 3 or 4 in Mumbai, attended by the families of both the bride and groom. They would be married under the Special Marriage Act of 1954 meant for intercaste marriages in India. After the court marriage, the couple were to fly off to Rajasthan ahead of their wedding events.

The couple's wedding festivities have been the subject of both speculation and complaint. According to the Indian media, a complaint was filed against the couple and the management of the hotel for blocking the way to the Chauth Mata temple ahead of the wedding. The hotel is located on the way to the temple and the hotel management closed the road leading to the temple from December 6 to 12.
