Netizens can't get enough of Babar Azam after Pakistan's warm-up win against the West Indies

The Pakistan cricket team grabbed an impressive win during their warm-up match against the West Indies for the the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, and while their performance is getting plenty of praise on the internet (as it should), team captain Babar Azam has netizens gushing the most.

Pakistan, after restricting the reigning champions to a modest 130-7 at the ICC Academy in Dubai, cruised to victory in 15.3 overs. The team's score was bolstered by Babar Azam (50 runs), Fakhar Zaman (46 runs, not out) and Shoaib Malik (14 runs, not out).

Netizens were all praise for Azam on Twitter.

The tournament matches have not begun but many are already convinced the captain will lead Pakistan towards T20 victory.

In fact, they've already made plans to watch Azam holding the winner's trophy with that special someone.

Despite Pakistan dealing out a crushing defeat, both teams were seen being friendly towards one another. Twitter especially noticed the camaraderie between Azam and Kieron Pollard — many users shared pictures of the two exchanging bro-hugs and a handshake to compliment their "sportsmanship".

Azam wasn't just give the cause of heartfelt moments, he had many breaking into laughter as well because of the comments he made to Shadab Khan during the match. Khan spurred the captain's annoyance when he was unable to run out the opposing team's batsman and that annoyance was expressed in the most Punjabi way ever.

Azam's "budda ho gaya, jawani vich tera run out se [you've gotten old, you would have run him out in your youth]*" comment to 23-year-old Khan was made in jest and Pakistani Twitter couldn't help share their love for what they saw.

Twitter users also couldn't help bringing up the Pakistan versus India rivalry in the same breath either (of course they couldn't). Where there were posts bolstering camaraderie, there were posts comparing Azam's performance to Indian captain Virat Kohli's. There's nothing like pitting two team captains against each other to get Twitter's adrenaline rushing after all. India had their first warm-up match against England on the same pitch and defeated them by seven wickets.

The T20 world cup is definitely off to an interesting start and all eyes are on Azam to carry Pakistan to the finishing line (no pressure though). Are you excited for the tournament?
