'Own everything you experience': Hrithik Roshan offers support to Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan
Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan recently spoke up in support of actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan after the 23-year-old was arrested for alleged possession of banned drugs and substance abuse on board a cruise ship.
Aryan and two others were taken into custody on Sunday after drug enforcers raided a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast and busted a party where drugs were being used. He's been in the custody of India's Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) since his arrest.
Roshan showed his support for Aryan on Instagram with a message addressed to him. "My dear Aryan. Life is a strange ride," he wrote. "It’s great because it’s uncertain. It’s great cause it throws you curve balls, but God is kind. He gives only the toughest ones the toughest balls to play.
"You know you are chosen when amidst the chaos you can feel the pressure to hold your own. And I know you must feel it now. The anger, the confusion, the helplessness. Aaah, the very ingredients that are needed to burn the hero out from inside you," he said.
"But be wary, those same ingredients could burn away the good stuff; the kindness, the compassion, the love," Roshan continued. "Allow yourself to burn, but just enough. Mistakes, failings, victories and success, they’re all the same if you know which parts to keep with you and which parts to throw away from the experience. But know that you can grow better with them all.
"I’ve known you as a kid and I’ve known you as a man," he said. "Own it. Own everything you experience. They’re your gifts. Trust me. In time when you connect the dots, I promise you, it’s gonna make sense. Only if you have stared the devil in his eyes and kept your calm. Keep calm. Observe. These moments are the makers of your Tom. And Tom is going to have a brilliant sun shining. But for it, you must go through the dark. Calm, still, owning your own. And trusting the light. Within. It’s always there."
He ended the note with a "love you man".
Aryan's case has been widely publicised and many people have been critical of the 23-year-old's actions as well as his privilege. Roshan isn't the only Bollywood star to publicly express support for the Shah Rukh Khan's son -- Suniel Shetty asked the public to "give him a breather" while Pooja Bhatt said she is standing by Khan.
The NCB claims to have evidence in the form of WhatsApp chats and calls to prove that Aryan and the two other young men were involved in the purchase and possession of the drugs in question. Drug enforcers seized 13 grams of cocaine, five grams of MD, 21 grams of charas and 22 pills of MDMA, and 133,000 INR from the cruise ship party where the 23-year-old was present.
