With Facebook and Instagram offline, Twitter orders McDonalds' nuggets for everyone

What to do when Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are unavailable? Order nuggets. Or at least that's what Twitter did.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority at 9:50pm on Monday said that Facebook services had been affected internationally due to an outage. As of 3:15am on Tuesday, at the time this report was published, the social media services were still offline.

Twitter, however, was one space that alive and kicking. As an unverified screenshot suggesting that the facebook.com address was for sale circulated, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted, “how much?”

Chiming in from the company’s main account, Twitter posted “hello literally everyone” as jokes and memes about the Facebook outage flooded the platform.

Instagram could only muster "Hi and happy Monday" while WhatsApp waved back. Noticeably, Facebook did not partake in the fun.

McDonalds also jumped in with its trademark "What can I get you?", to which Twitter ordered "59.6 million nuggets for my friends", making everyone trying to fill the void left by the absence of the go-to social media apps crave nuggets (and fries).

Reddit posed the most pressing question of all.

The website, however, also used this opportunity to draw in more users.

Meanwhile, Dell (the computer technology company) had an intriguing question for Twix (the chocolate) in the midst.

Coffee chain Starbucks also shamelessly promoted itself (because why not).

If you're looking to kill some time in lieu of scrolling through Facebook and Instagram and messaging on WhatsApp, Twitter's tweet is the rabbit hole to go down. As for us, we're going to go get ourselves some nuggets (with barbecue sauce).
