Deepika Padukone all set for Hollywood comeback with a cross-cultural romantic comedy

Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has stirred up excitement by announcing her comeback to Hollywood five years after debuting alongside American actor Vin Diesel in the film xXx: Return of Xander Cage.

The news was announced by Deadline. According to the publication, the actor will star in a romantic comedy for STXfilms and Temple Hill that she’ll produce through Ka Productions, Padukone's own production house.

According to Deadline Padukone has expressed excitement for the new venture. "Ka Productions was founded with the aim to develop and produce purposeful content with global appeal," she said. "I’m thrilled to be partnering with STXfilms and Temple Hill Productions, who share Ka’s ambition and creative vision and look forward to bringing impactful and dynamic cross-cultural stories to the world.”

The news was also shared through Padukone's social media. "World renowned performer and producer Deepika Padukone is teaming up with STXfilms to bring her next romcom to audiences around the globe.”

The actor made her English-language film debut in 2017 in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage but hasn't acted in any Hollywood movies since.
