Shahroz Sabzwari spills the beans on how he met Sadaf Kanwal
The Pakistani quarantine wedding that arguably received the most attention (and not all positive) was model Sadaf Kanwal and actor Shahroz Sabzwari's. Their union was on the receiving end of media attention following rumors of the two being together for a while, which the actor had initially denied.
The pair appeared as guests on The Couple Show hosted by Hina Altaf and husband Agha Ali and finally broke silence on where and how they met, exclaiming that the public had a huge role in bringing them together.
"Actually we got together for awards where we had to perform together. So there we hit it off and became such good friends," Sabzwari opened up about their first meeting.
"I'm a very closed up guy so I have a selected few people whom I love and those are the people I talk to. So with Sadaf I hit it off but when we came back, people started painting our friendship in a different light so then we both were like..." he laughed, thanking the audience for pitching the potential idea that the duo could be real-life partners.
"A big thank you to everyone," the Nand actor added, while Ali cheered on the public, saying it was all their doing.
Sabzwari also revealed what attracted him the most towards Kanwal.
"The best thing that would any attract any man is honesty. Especially in our industry, where we are out and about, and us men being however we are, growing up in Pakistan, we have a certain mentality. So keeping that mentality in mind, her morals were in the right place," he said.
"I don't know what it was about him, but I just decided that this is the man that I want to be the father of my children," Kanwal added.
The duo also spoke about how their home environment is free of gossip, courtesy of his father Behroz who doesn't entertain the idea of speaking ill about others.
"I used to do it before, but after getting married, not anymore," the model laughed, explaining how she got scolded for it a few times.
The two tied the knot last year with Sabzwari releasing multiple videos clarifying that infidelity was not the reason that led to the dissolution of his marriage with former wife Syra Yousuf.
He said the couple has been separated — not divorced — for at least six months, and denied allegations of cheating on his wife with the model, insisting he met Kanwal through work three or four months after his separation and the two were just colleagues.
