Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy roped in to co-direct Marvel's first Muslim superhero

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon, alongside Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are ready to bring a Pakistani-American superhero's story to the screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the four have been roped in to work on episodes of the Disney+ series, Ms Marvel aka Kamala Khan aka Marvel's first Muslim superhero!

Khan is a teenage Pakistani American from Jersey City, New Jersey with shapeshifting abilities and assumes the mantle of Ms. Marvel from her idol, Carol Danvers after Danvers becomes Captain Marvel.

Arbi and Fallah are the duo behind this year's Bad Boys for Life whereas Menon's credits include episodes of The Walking Dead, The Punisher, Titans, Dirty John, and Outlander.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has said that in addition to appearing on the small screen, Kamala Khan will also be included in future Marvel films.
