Sunny Deol will be in Pakistan today to attend Kartarpur Corridor's inauguration

Bollywood actor turned politician (he's a member of Indian PM Narendra Modi’s BJP) Sunny Deol will be visiting Pakistan today as part of a historic pilgrimage.

Sikhs from across the border will arrive in Pakistan today to visit the shrine of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, which is located in Kartarpur, a small town beside the River Ravi in central Punjab, ahead of the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor; the corridor provides visa-free access to religious pilgrims.

According to ANI, the BJP MP said, “If I won’t go, who will? I’ll definitely go. It is my area and my home.”

Indian CM Amarinder Singh and former PM Manmohan Singh will also be part of the first official jatha visiting alongside Deol.

Up to 5,000 Indian Sikhs have been allowed access daily, with plans to eventually double the capacity.

Sikhs from around the world — including some from India, who entered from the main border crossing at Wagah after obtaining visas — have been arriving in Pakistan ahead of the celebrations for several days already.
