The trailer for Sarmad Khoosat's Zindagi Tamasha will give you chills

After stepping into the mainstream with Manto (2015), Sarmad Khoosat is once again back with a movie that will clearly stay with the audience long after they've left the cinema.

Directed and co-produced by Sarmad, along with his sister, Kanwal Khoosat and written by Nirmal Bano, Zindagi Tamasha is a bilingual film, mostly shot in Punjabi. In the trailer, we're introduced to Naat Khwan Rahat Khawaja (Arif Hassan) and his family who find themselves ostracised from society when a certain secret of Khawaja's becomes public knowledge.

According to the official synopsis, "the film is an intimate portrait of a family as well as a scorching political commentary on little gods on this earth who police our private passions.” The end of the teaser also hints that the flick will also be shedding a light on the misuse of blasphemy law.

The movie's cast also includes Samiya Mumtaz, Eman Suleman and Ali Qureshi in pivotal roles and the soundtrack has been composed by Lux Style Award winners, Saakin.

The movie will first premiere at the Busan Film Festival in South Korea later this week and will release locally some time this year.
