Twitter is not okay with Anupam Kher calling the Kashmir situation a 'solution'

Bollywood actor Anupam Kher drew Twitter's ire once again during the ongoing events in Indian-occupied Kashmir.

Late last night, Kher wrote, "Kashmir solution has begun," in reference to the Indian government's movement.

In common usage, "final solution" usually refers to Final Solution to the Jewish Question, which was the Nazi plan for the genocide of Jews and also the official code name for the policy.

Twitter users were quick to point out Kher's use of the sinister phrase.

Others pointed out the incongruity of the terminology with Kher's professional achievements — and his own life.

Hours later, however, Kher seemed undaunted by the blowback as he doubled down and shared the release of his autobiography.

Kashmiris as well as critics of India’s Hindu nationalist-led government see the move as an attempt to dilute the demographics of Muslim-majority Kashmir with Hindu settlers.
