Sara Bhatti will be making her theatre debut in Anwar Maqsood's Naach Na Jaanay
Sara Bhatti, who recently started acting in television dramas, is ready to take the next step in her career.
The budding actress will be seen next in Anwar Maqsood's upcoming theatre play Naach Na Jaanay, directed by Dawar Mehmood. The production is the prequel of Maqsood's iconic drama Aangan Terha and will also feature Yasir Hussain reprising his role of Akbar and marking his return to the stage after seven years.
In an Instagram post, the Silsilay actress shared a picture of herself in character:
"I don’t do a lot of projects. I’m not arrogant or moody, the roles just aren’t impactful," she wrote.
"But now, after months of being the choosy me, I’m doing another completely different character. In a play which is written by none other than Anwar Maqsood. A prequel to Aangan Tehra and I play Jahan Aara in it. Yep, that same Jahan Aara. I love theatre and have been wanting to do it for so long!!! And here it is."
In Aangan Terha, Akbar (Yasir Hussain), a former classical dancer was the the domestic help of a civil servant, Mehboob Ahmed and his wife, Jahan Aara. Bushra Ansari played her in the original so we're excited to see Bhatti put her own spin on it!
Naach Na Jaanay will run in Karachi at the Arts Council from 14-31 March.
